Backtracking e Week!

SAturday
Had a Mommy and Son Outing today to bugis! First stop was to get the movie tickets for the 2 plus show for A Night in the Museum 2 (Son's treat!). There was still some time so we had tea/coffee and a Teramisu at Coffee Beans and Tea Leaves (with much unwillingness). They kinda lived up to my 'expectation'. The cake wasn't good, in fact our Cafe at the Quad sells better cakes at half the price. The Coffee was the bitter type... fortunately I choose the correct hot tea (Tropical smth...) otherwise it would be a bad start for a good outing!!!

A night in the museum part 2 was nice and funny, but it's a slight disappointment as there wasn't much memorable scenes like the Dum Dum wants Gum Gum and the monkey slappings in the part 1. Shant talk much here in case I become a spoiler! HAhaa!

We pass by a roadshow against illicit trade after the movie. Since I've started working at BAT I began to educate Darwis about illicit trade and how tobacco companies actually work with the government to actually try to wipe out such illegal activities. However this much cigarettes is really horrifying, Im totally convinced it will cause seven generations of deaths due to smoking... Maybe I'll get a bonus or something if I show this to my boss =D

We managed to find a place in trusty old Starbucks. The coffee, esp the frappuchinos are definitely way nicer than those at coffee bean and tea leaves and after 3 hours of data entry and report typing, we had out dinner at Hip Diners. There was a one-for-one promotion! And we ordered the more expensive items on the list as the logic goes, we would never order any of these items if not for the very good offer! I shall let the pictures do the talking here!

The brownie was fantastic. Warm and soft, like fresh bakery out from the oven.. topped with cool and refreshing vanilla ice cream... it was totally irresistible, yet we couldn't bear to poke our forks in!!!! It was this good!
Friday
My fourth day of work is scheduled to be out with a sales van following the TMEs around 7-11 stores and observe how their work tasks are like and gain deeper insights and field level experience of trade marketing. It was enriching and I following Ronald (the sales guy) for the whole day really did gave me new knowledge and understanding throughout the day, from 8am in the morning till 4.30pm in the late afternoon. It was hard work for him, and he was perspiring as if the sun had rained on him! I was cool though, no sweat, and he was totally amazed that I did not have a single drop of perspiration anyway on my face! Of course la... he was the one doing all the work carrying everything, driving around and squeezing in the tight cashier counter, all I did was to walk in and out of air condition and following him around! He wouldn't let me do any work and said that I could go shopping if I want. He won't tell. But of course I didn't =)
4.30pm and I am back at BAT, one of the earlier vans to come back. After a hot day out, I was greeted by my favourite cheesecakes and Heagen Daz ice cream! It was a monthly company tea gathering and just at the right time too! It was a life savior in that crazy weather. The sun was out to kill.
I was supposed to meet Wei Qin, Dong Yue and the rest later in the night and I purposely missed out dinner for that. I seriously really wanted to go but somehow, I just slept through and woke up only at 10.30am the next morning. Haiz. When I called them they were having Macdonald breakfast. Hai... With Much Pai Sehz...
Thursday
The office ( my desk) was freaking cold yesterday and I had forgotten my jacket! So I woke up with a bad running nose and went to the doc's in office attire, intending to simply grab some medications. The doc, however, gave me a MC and said that I better stay home although I insisted I don't need the MC. (I wanted to go for the last day of the launch)
It was wise decision to stay home though, given that I finished two boxes of tissue and had to use toilet roll instead, and that there was the first case of H1N1 flu in Singapore the day before too.
Wednesday
Nothing much on Wednesday, just that when I reached on my third day of work, second day in office, I was wondering who to report to since there wasn't a single soul around and it was already 8.30am! (Work starts at 8am although the company practices flexi hours) The first soul, another intern, came in about 45 mins later. Must be half dead from yesterday's party... although I am rather amazed how the bosses manage to come in fresh and steady after their after party clubbing.
Left work on time for Hall Production practise. I had a bowl of onion soup from soup spoon in bid to stop the flu. Guess it was just my perception that onion helps cure flu. Should have gotten that mushroom soup! Hall production practises are fun and I always enjoy them!
Tuesday
It's the second day of work and I am at Sentosa. Could you believe it? It's amazing eh, my first thought when I am told there there will be no one in the office on Tuesday, all will be at Sentosa was, what is this company all about!!!!
It was a whole day of briefing, food, fun and enjoyment. It was a new product launch with Gala Dinner. Got lots of pictures but I shall only upload afew. The champagne was the best dish of all.. haha!
Shawn and Germaine, two interns in BAT, from NTU and SMU respectively.
Kendra and Me. Kendra's a grad mentor intern whose been with BAT for half a year! Ahaha!
The second nicest dish, the appetiser. The Teramisu cake was fantastic too but my Arena Cam failed me halfway so I could not get a picture of it.
Some group bonding activity that we did earlier in the afternoon. I'm gonna make something like this on my scrap book soon!
Monday
First day of work!!!!!
Other than the news that there will be nobody in the office the next day and that everyone will be in Sentosa, nothing much actually... just briefings and signatures and knowing my bosses and the other interns. Lunch was Roy's (A boss) treat and I've yet to say thank you to him =P I had only hoped for a better night before first day of work, at least I won't be half an hour late.
Dinner was at NK's place and without fail, his mom always makes good dinners. His mom gave up her share for me coz when NK asked me over, he did not inform his mom beforehand. *Guilt* But she says she's going for yoga so she can't eat much anyway. I should take pictures of her cookings next time... stew pig trotters and crispy juicy chicken nuggets. =D

Woah... recounting all these was a great feat!

Diarrhoea

Can you believe it?

The day that I have been waiting for, the very important BAT interview that I was so excited about, the very special 10am Tuesday morning moment at woodlands, had to be cancelled and reschedule due to diarrhoea!

My mom has a habit of bringing funny tasting drinks 7am in the morning.. sometimes its white, sometimes pink, green, sometimes its orange..sometimes its even spicy papaya juice and I was so convinced I would just a stomachache after drinking it. She's smart to bring in those things at 7am in the morning when a person(me) is half awake and somewhat unconscious. Just that 'you better drink it fast or else mailto:!@#$%^&*( face is enough to make one not think twice about gulping down papaya juice that tastes spicy.

Today was new though. Its a reddish brown substance. Tasted like papaya again, not spicy, just that the colour is wrong. But it's not smelly/suspicious or what, so I simply gulped it down like no man's business and returned to slp to ensure I have sufficient sleep before my morning interview. (The fact is I hate to be awaken in the middle of my sleep to drink funny stuffs) 8am my stomach started churning. 8.30 -9.30 I was suffering in the toilet, water leaking out from the asshole and vision getting so bright (you know... seeing big big bright stars) I tot I'd get blinded anytime. I was in cold sweat all over man.

Got out of the toilet to give BAT a call to push the interview back by half an hour. The receptionist and in-charge were really nice and sympathetic. The truth was I'm afraid I'd give a bad impression. I wanted to attempt to reach at 10am since woodlands is near and I had all intentions to hail a cab. However, I had to turn the cab back halfway as another blot was coming. disgusting. saddening. In fact I cried when I called NK. 10.30am, I called to cancel and reschedule the interview.

To think that i even gave away those fried chicken wings cause I thought I better not spoil my throat.

Rested and went without lunch. I was afraid that anything I put in will simply liquefy and come out. I was supposed to meet kor and Mr Yip for lunch. We had dinner together though, together with the rest of the T-net members. Glad I went down despite wobbly legs and a giddy head. Did alot of catch up and jokes were all over the place. They even asked if my mom want to set up a business making her potent papaya with green magma juice ( I found out later what it was I drank in the morning) for slimming purposes.

After that was Angels and Demons. I must say its a somewhat good show, a bit gruesome... but its obvious why this movie had a lot of religious issues even during its makings. I just didn't like the parts where they showed going through tight spaces or tubes since I'm claustrophobic and it showed pretty much during the whole show.

I'll give it 3.5 stars.

4got my keys

Here I am sitting around in school with my trusty lappy waiting for 7pm to come.

I have forgotten to bring my hall keys so I cant enter the room. -.-

Talking about 'the room', it does not feel like my room anymore. I dun have much/ any belongings left there....

Now I begin to wonder if the difference between 'the room' and 'my room', which effectively differentiates the feelings I have to a room, is the belongings that I have there or the simple possession of the keys to the room. Such that, now that I do not have any belongings left there, the room that I thought I am so attached to had became just a room which the keys I am holding on to.

So why is it that I have the keys to my house and my belongings in the house, but I do not call it a home?

some radom tots. as always.
